Review: John O Callaghan At Club Fur Washington, DC July 3rd 2010

Have you GLOW?

During the weekend of Independence Day, the USTM crew invaded the heart of the America, Washington, DC.  No we didn’t check in with Obama or out with the White House.  We were there for John O’Callaghan @ Club FUR, also known as GLOW.  What made this trip so memorable for some of us was the fact that it was a first time visit to the club.  To be honest, I’ve heard of Club FUR many times and seen many videos but nothing can compare to the real life experience.  Club FUR isn’t your typical club that you’ll find just anywhere.  First off, they have one of the sickest DJ line up you’ll find anywhere.  Just in the weekends of July 2010, FUR is scheduling John O’Callaghan, Rank 1, Andy Moor, Marco V and Cosmic Gate!! Where else would one find such a crazy line up, outside of festivals!  Check out their line up schedule here: http://www.clubglow.com/glow-calendar/

What makes Club FUR so amazing?  I’ll say everything!  If you simply need a break from the music or the dance floor you can always check out a different one!  You have the hip-hop section in the center area which is the main room that connects to all the other rooms.  If you like some reggeaton, merrengue, bachata or just some latino flavor you got a room itself.  I personally don’t know if thats all they play in the room but during the time of my preview, they were spinning some sick tracks where you’ll find famous latin DJ throw!  Last but not least you got a house/tribal house section right outside in the parking lot like area.  It’s an outdoor area where people can dance, drink and have cigarettes!  I got to say, whichever room I stayed at, there weren’t a single complaint about any DJs in any of the rooms!

Are you a stomper?  Just to picture 8 USTM members present at the party stomping all at the same time with plenty of more room and never the worry of stomping into someone else.  To me, there were more than enough dance floor for everyone that night, but don’t take my words for it, check it out for yourself and be the judge!  Love light shows?  Club FUR is glowstick friendly!  As a matter of fact, they’re glowstick friendly so much that they have staff members going around selling all sort of glowsticks (at about $3 a stick).  Other than glowsticks, you got tons of lasers hanging from the ceiling hitting just about everyone on the floor in addition to some black light areas.  Check out this video recorded at the club! (website link)  Throwing a birthday party?  Club FUR’s got all the VIP section you need!  I personally think there are too many VIP sections that could’ve turned into some seating areas.   All the VIP sections there limits the space where people can sit and relax from all the dancing.

Worry about what to wear to Club FUR?  You won’t ever have to feel underdress or overdress at Club FUR, since sneakers are allowed with t-shirts and you got tons of gentlemen with buttons up and ladies in sexy dresses in all the rooms!  What more do I need to say?  You got all kinds of great party music going on at once with an evenly mixture of crowd, I personally want to be on all the dance floors! Great music and great people in an amazing club like this was simply an unforgettable experience!  The best thing about it is you can get in for FREE prior to a certain time (please check with their website or Facebook fan page) and that’s what the USTM crew did!  Party on!

Thanks for the great review guys, glad you had a good time!! We aim to please! Just to clarify something in the review, its Glow bringing the DJs and running the event. Fur is just one of the venues where we host Glow events and bring these great DJs :-) . Either way, we’re glad to have you guys there! Thanks for the support!
