According to Armin van Buuren, that’s exactly how his new single ‘Not Giving Up On Love’ came into being. The second single of his forthcoming artist album ‘Mirage’ is a collaboration with no one less than Sophie Ellis-Bextor. This follow-up to ‘Full Focus’ definitely combines the best of both worlds.
After meeting up with Australian songwriters the Nervo Sisters, the duo got Armin in touch with Sophie. A collaboration of the three parties was born: ‘Not Giving Up On Love’. And that’s why the John Lennon quote fits so well. Sophie Ellis-Bextor, the British vocal lady who’s also up for her fourth artist album, is more than excited about this musical fusion as Armin. Sophie:”I love what he does and I think ‘Not Giving Up’ is a wonderful blend of trance and wistful pop. The song suits a sunrise or a dance floor and it’s great to sing. Filming the video in Ibiza is the perfect way to christen the track!”
Different from Armin’s previous works, ‘Not Giving Up On Love’ is a melodic, electro-sounding vocal beauty with real drums, a piano line and an absolute feel-good sound to it. On the remixes, we find Jorn van Deynhoven and Dash Berlin’s, both rocking the track in their own way. ‘Not Giving Up On Love’ is just as diverse as the rest of Armin’s ‘Mirage’ album, the follow-up to ‘76’, ‘Shivers’ and ‘Imagine’, to be released September 10th.
