Born and raised in South Africa, Lostly (Andre Frauenstein) started DJing at the tender age of 13. With a passion for music & DJing he went all out to break into the industry, which was already brimming with talented artists. Throughout the years he’s become widely acclaimed for his intense stage presence, as well as his outrageous antics behind the decks, spanning several different musical scenes and movements.
Lostly quickly moved in to DJ at top events and festivals around the world, to name a few Love Parade (Essen) Germany (1.3 million people attending) Nature One, Decibel, Color Festival, he has also been busy supporting and headlining successful shows and tours with acts such as Simon Patterson, Cosmic Gate, Emma Hewitt, Markus Schulz, John O’ Callaghan, Activa etc. His endless dedication & passion having paid off, Lostly is now known as one of the leading electronic DJ/Producers in South Africa, with his music being supported by the biggest performing artists around the globe, such as Armin Van Buuren on A State Of Trance.
What punctuates Lostly’s skills as a DJ and producer, is his capacity to not only incorporate diverse genres and styles but to transcend them by infusing his music with pure emotion and loyalty. Whether its sitting behind the control board, playing to his followers, or searching for the next great release, Lostly will continue to shine as the master at work.
With chart topping releases featured on labels such as Discover Records, Mental Asylum, Kearnage, Adjusted Music, Borderline Music as well as compilation albums such as the infamous Technoclub series, Ministry Of Sound’s Trance Nation. He has also completed several collaborations and remixes this year for the likes of Aly & Fila, The Thrillseekers, Indecent Noise, Signum and more. In the very same year Lostly was approached by his home label Discover Records to become the head of A&R taking over from industry giants Activa and John Askew.
He has also launched his own Record Label under the Recoverworld umbrella called ‘Lostalgia Music’ and the first two unreleased songs have already gained frequent support from Aly & Fila, Bryan Kearney, John O’ Callaghan, The Thrillseekers, Giuseppe Ottaviani to mention a few.
